⚓Marlow : The central character of Heart of Darkness. Marlow possesses a philosophical inclination, an autonomous mindset, and a basic skepticism towards people in his vicinity. In addition, he possesses exceptional storytelling skills, exhibiting eloquence and captivating his audience with his narrative. He tells lyrical stories that captivate his audience. Marlow shares many European beliefs, but he has seen enough of the globe and met enough degraded white men to doubt imperialism.   

⚓ Kurtz : Kurtz is the principal figure in the Inner Station and the target of Marlow's pursuit. Kurtz possesses a multitude of skills, including his exceptional musical and artistic abilities. However, his most prominent qualities are his magnetic personality and his aptitude for guiding others. Kurtz possesses a profound comprehension of the influence wielded by language, and his written works are characterized by a captivating eloquence that veils their deeply disturbing content.  

Despite being a mystery to Marlow, Kurtz undeniably has a significant impact on the individuals around him. Kurtz's downfall appears to stem from his disregard for the hypocritical regulations that dictate European colonial behavior. By excessively fraternizing with the natives and neglecting to maintain a facade, he has detached himself from societal norms. Consequently, he has achieved great success but has also earned the animosity of his fellow white men.  

⚓The General manager : The General Manager is the individual accountable for overseeing and managing all facets of an organization's operations and activities. The Company's main representative in its African area, responsible for supervising the activities of the Central Station. The primary determinant of his success is his tough constitution, which enables him to surpass all of his competition. In spite of his ordinary physical appearance and absence of exceptional abilities, he exhibits a distinct ability to deliberately cause discomfort in others, so exerting control over them by ensuring they remain appropriately unsettled.  

⚓The Brick maker : Marlow encounters the brickmaker at the Central Station, who is highly regarded by the manager and appears to function as a corporate informant. He consistently fails to manufacture any bricks, as he is purportedly awaiting a crucial component that is never supplied. He has a selfish and cunning nature, and he tends to project his own behavior onto others.  

⚓Chief Accountant: An efficient worker who always dresses in white and stays clean despite the squalor and heat of the Outer Station, where he lives and works. One of the rare colonials who has done anything is teaching a native woman to care for his wardrobe. 

⚓Cannibals : The crew of the steamboat consisted of natives who were remarkably sensible and well-tempered. Marlow admires their self-control and their composed embrace of hardship. The group's leader, specifically, appears to possess intelligence and the ability to engage in sarcastic introspection about his circumstances.  

⚓Helmsman: A young lad from the coastal area who received training from Marlow's predecessor to run the steam-powered ship. Marlow perceives him as a capable pilot, but views him mostly as a utilitarian element of the boat. He meets his death as the riverboat is attacked by indigenous people hidden along the riverbanks. 

⚓Aunt: Marlow's affectionate family member, who arranges for him to obtain a job with the Company. She strongly advocates for imperialism as a philanthropic endeavor that introduces culture and religion to impoverished and unsophisticated indigenous peoples. She also serves as an exemplar to Marlow, illustrating the innocence and delusions commonly seen in women.  

⚓The African mistress : A remarkably beautiful woman, wearing extravagant jewelry, appears on the coast whenever Marlow's riverboat arrives or departs from the Inner Station. She demonstrates an overwhelming level of authority over both Kurtz and the local inhabitants living near the station, and the Russian merchant recognizes her as someone to be cautious of. Like Kurtz, she is an enigmatic and perplexing character   she avoids conversing with Marlow and he is unaware of any further details about her.   

⚓Fresleven: The one who held the position of steamboat commander prior to Marlow. Fresleven, a guy renowned for his amiable disposition and aversion to aggression, perished in a conflict with hens, purportedly as a result of his physical altercation with a tribal chieftain.
