Introduction : The representation of a language through the medium of writing,called as a written language. Graphemes are visual symbols that are used to represent linguistic units such as phonemes, syllables, morphemes, or words.Written language, on the other hand, distinguishes itself from spoken and signed language 
 
Inscriptions dating back, approximately three thousand years ago serve as the foundation of writing, with cave paintings and pictorial representation,as fundamentals.

Pictograms and ideograms : They're graphic symbols that convey ideas or concepts. A pictogram communicates its meaning by closely resembling a tangible object.
For example : "🌲" Symbol may be used to represent a tree or any objects related to that particular thing,conveying similar meanings.
🌲🐒  representing the connection between a monkey and tree. It can only convey the idea not the time or period of action.The differentiation between pictograms and ideograms primarily lies in the correlation between the symbol and the entity it represents.Also they do not represents any kinda sound but the idea,trying to convey.

Logograms : A writing system that concentrates on logograms is referred to as a logography.Logograms,one of the earliest writing systems,consist of logographs, which symbolise intricate concepts.The primary drawback of logographic writing systems lies in their inherent complexity.
 
Rebus Writing :  Rebus writing is a method of writing that uses pictorial symbols to represent objects.The term "onomatopoeia" is used to describe the use of words that imitate or suggest the sound associated with the object or action they refer to.
The sound "splash,splash" refers water or water related objects.
 
Syllabic writing, also known as a syllabary, is a method of writing where each symbol represents a syllable.  
 
Alphabetical writing : An alphabet, also known as alphabetic writing, is a system of writing in which each symbol corresponds to a particular sound or phoneme.
 
Consonantal alphabet : A consonantal alphabet is a writing system where each symbol represents a consonantal sound.
